SUMMARY:56th Snowball Derby
DESCRIPTION:The Snowball Derby presented by Bayou Fox Hooters is a 300-lap super late model stock car race held annually at the Five Flags Speedway a half-mile paved oval track in Pensacola\, Florida. The race has been contested every year since 1968 and is typically run on the first weekend in December\, although in some years it has been run on the second weekend. \nThe Snowball Derby has a reputation for attracting some of the bigger names in short tract racing including top series NASCAR drivers (when not in conflict with their year-end banquet) because it is run after most tracks and touring series have concluded their season. For example\, the 2009 event was won by NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and also featured Steve Wallace\, Bobby Gill\, Chase Elliot\, Matt Kenseth’s son Ross Kenseth\, David Stremme and Cale Gale. As a result\, in 2017\, NASCAR moved the Cup Series prize-giving banquet to the Thursday instead of Friday\, as in years past\, in order to allow drivers to participate in the Snowball Derby. \n\n\n  \n\n\n\n2023 SNOWBALL DERBY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS\n\n\n2023 Snowball Derby\nTicket Prices:\n4 day reserved: $90\nThursday only; $15\nFriday only; $20\nSaturday only; $30\nSunday only; $45\nAdvanced Pit Pass: $120\nVIP Pass (seat in stands plus pits); $140 \nSchedule\nFriday Nov. 17th\, Miss Snowball Derby Pageant\, Seville Quarter\, Downtown\nSaturday Nov. 18th\, Snowball Preview\, 10am-6pm\, day long practice\,\n6pm Story & Bleich Roofing Crown Stock 40 race \nTuesday Nov 28\nWelcome Party\, Hooters on\nPensacola Beach 7pm \nWednesday Nov. 29\n9:00 Rig Parking\n11:00 SBD & SF Tech Opens\n5:00 Cones up at SBD & SF Tech Line\n6:00 Snowball/Snowflake Qualifying Draw\, Chili for Charity\n8:00 Pepperjack Kennels Green Flag Party\nTool Shack Qualifying Draw Down\nChili for Charity \nThursday November 30\n8:00 Pits Open\n9:00 SBD & SF Driver’s Meeting\n10:-4:00 SBD & Snowflake Practice\n4:30 Pro Truck\, Sportsmen & Pure Stock Driver’s Meeting\n5:00 Racing America Bullring Show in Fan Zone\n5:-6:30 Truck\, Sportsmen & Pure Stock Practice\n6:45 Truck\, Sportsmen & Pure Stock Qualifying\n7:45 Pre Race Festivities\n8:00 ZOOM Pro Truck 50\nDock of P’cola Beach Sportsmen 50\nLloyd’s Glass Pure Stock 35 \nFriday December 1 # Country Pleasin’ Pole Night\n8:00 Pits Open\n9:00 SBD & SF Driver’s Meeting\n10:00-10:45 SBD Practice\n10:45-11:30 SF Practice\n11:30-12:30 Modifieds Practice\n1:00 SBD Practice\n2:00 SF Practice\nMods to Pre Qualifying Tech\n3:00 Mod Qualifying (Lock 28)\nSBD Cars to Pre Qualifying Tech (by group)\n4:30 Mod Driver’s Meeting\, turn 1\n5:00 Racing America Bullring Live in Fan Zone\n6:00 56th Snowball Derby Qualifying\n7:45 Pre Race Festivities\n8:00 Crown Stock Practice\, Group Qualifying\n8:15 Modifieds of Mayhem 75\nStory & Bleich Crown Stock Invitational 25 \nSaturday December 2\n8:00 Pits Open\n9:00 SBD & SF Driver’s Meeting\n10:00-11:00 SF Practice\n11:00-11:45 Outlaw Practice\n11:45-12:45 SBD Practice\n1:30 Outlaw Qualifying (Lock 28)\n2:00 SF Qualifying (lock top 30)\nSF Qualifier (50 Laps\, transfer 4)\nSBD Qualifier (50 Laps\, transfer 4)\nOutlaws B-Main (if necessary)\n6:00 Outlaws Driver’s Meeting\n7:00 Allen Turner Snowflake 100\nFaith Chapel Outlaw SBD 50 \nSunday\, Dec 3\n7:00 Pits Open\, team members only\n(Haulers must exit by 9am)\n8:00 Pits Open\n9:30 SBD Driver’s Meeting\n10:00 Worship Service\n12:00 Engine Warmups /Cars to grid\nPre Race Festivities\n2023 SBD Class Photo\nDriver Introductions\n1:00 Snowball Derby (300 Laps}
