SUMMARY:Studer Community Institute Gingerbread House
DESCRIPTION:The Gingerbread House Competition will run from 10 a.m – 1 p.m Saturday\, Dec. 16\, at the SCI building\, 220 W. Garden St. Local residents and judges will choose the winner of the gingerbread competition\, which includes prize money awarded to local bakers\, artists\, or anyone with gingerbread\, frosting\, and creativity. Also\, this year’s competition will include participation from local high and middle school’s culinary arts academies as well as an elementary school showcase. \n\n\n\n\nENTRY \nTo be eligible for the competition/showcase\, you must register via Eventbrite by 2:15 p.m. on Friday\, December 8th. You must be able to attend the Gingerbread Competition\, or have a representative attend\, and drop your gingerbread house off between 7:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event. To be eligible for the adult individual or team division\, you must be 18+ years old and pay the $50/person or $200/team entry fee. No more than 5 people are allowed per team. All proceeds go to benefit the Studer Community Institute – Early Brain Development Department. Your entry number will be given to you after registration. Please complete one (1) entry form per team. \nDESIGN AND SIZE \nEntry must be placed on a board base. Base must fit inside taped off section for entry. Entries combined with a base must not be larger than 18 inches high\, 16 inches wide\, and 24 inches long. 1⁄2 inch plywood as a base for your entry is recommended. Use of pegs/risers/feet on the bottom of the base is preferred but not required. If you wish to install pegs/risers/feet on the underside of your base\, they are considered as part of the base and must not cause the entry’s overall height to exceed 18 inches. \nMATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION \nThe main structure must be constructed of at least 50% visible/exposed gingerbread. The use of gum paste\, fondant\, modeling chocolate\, royal icing\, Isomalt\, cast sugar\, gelatin and pressed sugar is highly encouraged. Do not use anything on the entry that needs refrigeration. The use of battery-powered electrics and non-edible materials is allowed. \nJUDGING AND PRIZES \nJudging will be held Saturday\, December 16\, 2023\, prior to the event. Winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m.\, during the event. DESCRIPTION:Holiday Lighted Boat Parade\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. \nThe 2023 Lighted Boat Parade will set sail from Sabine Marina in Little Sabine Bay at 6:30pm\, do a loop\, wind its way around the Santa Rosa Sound/Boardwalk area and circle back to Sabine Marina. \nLeading up to the boat launch\, a kid’s party will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at Shaggy’s Pensacola Beach. \nDirectly following the boat parade\, Santa will make his way to the Quietwater Shell to greet the children. \nSpectators can watch the parade from Little Sabine or the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk and any of the businesses along the route. \n  \nBoats of all sizes\, shapes\, and colors are invited to enter the parade and compete in the boat decorating contest! \nThe deadline to register will be Monday\, Nov. 27\, at 5 p.m. The entry fee is $35 per boat. DESCRIPTION:A local tradition since 1994\, this event ushers in the holiday season in the Navarre area with a Merry Market where local artists and crafters will gather with great gift ideas for everyone on your list.\nThis is an outdoor event in Navarre Park located at 8513 Navarre Parkway.\nThe Merry Market spaces are $50 each for local arts\, crafters and small retailers. (Navarre Chamber Members get a $10 discount.)\nMerry Market Vendors must provide their own table\, tent and chairs.\nMerry Market Sponsor Spaces are available for Commercial Businesses: $250\nNO POLITICAL ADVERTISING.\nThe Annual Navarre Community Christmas Parade will start at 1 pm at the Navarre Library and will roll south along Presidio\, making a left at Esplanade Street and ending in the back parking lot of Centennial Bank.\nParade Entry Fee: $50\nSanta and Mrs. Claus will arrive by fire truck in the parade and will be available for photos with children in Navarre Park as soon as the parade ends.\nVisits with Santa & Mrs Claus are free and parents are invited to bring their cameras for photos.\nThere will be baked goods and beverages will be available at Mrs. Claus’ Bakery in Navarre Park after the parade.\nThe Navarre Chamber is currently seeking LIVE entertainment\, local schools and choirs from the local area to perform in Navarre Park during the day.\nContact Lynne.Myers@NavarreChamber.com if your group is interested in performing.
